Cam StewartCam Stewart, has been active in the field diversity, inclusion and intercultural communication for many years. He has received many awards for his work, including; The Calgary Police Chief’s Award for Community Service, the Jewish Repairing the World Award, the YMCA Peace Medal, the Jerry P. Sellinger Award for working with immigrant offenders and victims of domestic violence, and the Baha’i Community Racial Harmony Award.

As president of Kanata Intercultural Consulting Inc. Cam has advised government, corporations, and not-for-profit organizations in areas of racism, hate crime, and diversity.   He is a senior consultant for the federal HRSDC Racism-free Workplace Strategy, Canadian Coalition Against Racism and Discrimination, and the Alberta Hate Bias Crime and Incidents Committee.

Linda McKay-Panos

Kari Grain was the Calgary Director of SHOUT National, an organization committed to activism and education in areas such as social justice, diversity, and genocide awareness.  She obtained her undergraduate degree from University of Victoria and now works for The Canadian Centre for Diversity as the Discover Diversity Schools Program Co-ordinator.  She is loves to travel, and intends to begin her Master’s Degree in September 2008 at University of Calgary.

Linda McKay-PanosLinda McKay-Panos (Board President) is the Executive Director of the Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre. She taught Language Arts and Social Studies with the Calgary Board of Education for 7 years before obtaining her Law Degree. In 1992, she joined the Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre as a Research Associate. Linda is a sessional instructor in the Faculty of Communication and Culture at the University of Calgary. Linda received her Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees from the University of Calgary.

Linda is the Past President Alberta Association for Multicultural Education, Treasurer of the Committee on Race Relations and Cross Cultural Understanding, and the Past President of the Public Legal Education Network of Alberta. Linda is the author of several publications dealing with civil liberties, access to information, human rights, discrimination, equality and related topics. Linda received the 2001 Suzanne Mah Award and an Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005 for her work in human rights in Alberta.

Nicholas Spillios
